Most of your health is decided long before you ever see a doctor
The things you put in and on your body. How you move. How you sleep. How you carry pressure. How connected you feel to other people. None of these sit outside your health. They are your health, quietly compounding day after day, year after year. The very same five everyday areas can build you stronger and more resilient, or slowly wear you down and leave you more prone to illness.
Here is the part most of us were never told: this is largely within your control. Not all of it, but far more than you have probably been led to believe.
Excess weight alone is linked to 13 types of cancer and is the second biggest preventable cause of cancer in the UK after smoking (Cancer Research UK).
Five everyday areas. One stronger you.
Each pillar can build you up or wear you down. Small changes across all five add up to something far bigger than any single fix.
What you put in and on your body
The food and drink that fuel you, and the everyday products and exposures around you. The most modifiable influence on how you feel day to day.
Sleep
The foundation everything else rests on. Restore it and your energy, mood, focus and appetite all begin to settle.
Stress and resilience
Pressure is unavoidable. How your body and mind carry it is something you can train.
Movement
Not punishing exercise. Regular, enjoyable activity that keeps your body capable and your mind clear.
Social connection
One of the strongest predictors of a long, healthy life, and the one we most often overlook.
You don't have to master all five at once.
Start with one. Come to a workshop and pick the pillar that matters most to you right now.
Join a workshopFor many common conditions, lifestyle change is the first thing the guidelines recommend
This is not fringe wellness. For a long list of the conditions people most often see their GP about, national clinical guidance (NICE) recommends lifestyle and other non-drug approaches as the first-line step, frequently before any medication.
- High blood pressure
- Type 2 diabetes
- Overweight and obesity
- Osteoarthritis
- Long-term insomnia
- Depression (less severe)
- Anxiety
- Low back pain
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Indigestion and reflux (dyspepsia and GORD)
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Urinary incontinence
In every case the "treatment" is built from everyday tools: how you eat, move, sleep, handle stress and stay connected. That is exactly what we help you learn and put into practice.

The need is real — and modifiable
Oxfordshire does well on many headline measures, yet day-to-day wellbeing still slips for too many of us. Weight creep, poor sleep, persistent stress and low energy are modifiable.
These are not fixed facts about us. They are starting points we can change, together.

Extra support, once the foundations are in place
Lifestyle comes first, always. For some people, two supportive therapies can complement that foundation: hyperbaric oxygen therapy and red light therapy. They are optional adjuncts, not a replacement for the basics, and we will always be straight with you about what they can and cannot offer.
